London’s Latin Quarter Map

Latin Americans have a particularly strong presence in the Elephant and Castle area of Southwark in London, the history of which begins in the early 1990s when young Latin American migrant entrepreneurs started to inhabit and revive what were some of the less desirable retail spaces in the Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre.

Today the Latin Quarter houses more than 100 small inter-independent Latin American run businesses across four clearly identifiable zones: the E&C shopping centre, the Arches in Elephant Road, the Arches in Eagle Yard and Tiendas del Sur in Newington Butts.
